The Beauty Of Continental Food.

Last week I went to Paris for the end of the Tour de France, while I sieve my way through over 2500 photos I thought I would share some of my favourite french food treats.

I find continental food so much more appealing and well presented than in England, patisseries are so much more creative and fresh fruit and veg more vibrant and unusual.

My weakness being macarons, which are so easy to pick up in France but in England are a lot more of a struggle to find unless you have Laduree at Harrods on your doorstep.

Apart from my obsession with Macarons, I fell in love with MyBerry.

Tucked down the old back streets of Paris behind the Notre Dame I stumbled across this delightful store selling fresh frozen yogurt and smoothies.
The store is filled with little pots of sweets and bowls of fresh coulis and fruit to top your frozen yoguart with.

I went for a medium sized one with fresh raspberries, mixed berry coulis and a sprinkling of dark chocolate. I have to say the combination was perfect as well as being low in calories.

Sand, Pim's and Pony's

On Saturday I was lucky enough to attend the National Beach Polo Championships with my beautiful best friend Kate.

The sky was clear and sun was shinning which made it perfect weather to throw on a little dress, sandals and shades and head to the the most exclusive beach in the UK.

Now in its 4th year and growing in success year on year the SandBanks holds the National Beach Polo championships for those alike to sip Pims and Champagne while watching the elite sport.

As the final Chukka ended and England beat Australia 8-6 the sun lowered over the stand, turning day into night as Amika took over for the after party.

Home Sweet Home.

So I spent the weekend in the heart of the Dorset country side relaxing with family away from work and the busy city and indulging in home made food.

Don't get me wrong I can cook but there's something about being cooked for. I did lend a hand in cooking pizza's on Friday night and after quickly finding out that making stereotypical circular pizza's is a lot harder than its anticipated to be, I created 'Louise's Finger Pizza's'.
With a topping of tomato and basil sauce, roasted peppers, mushrooms, black olives, buffalo mozzarella and grated mozzarella.

After Friday night it was best to stay clear of kitchen and left my sister to throw a dinner party for, even though I was not invited (due to being out for the majority of the day) she kindly surprised me with this on my return home.

Brie tarts served with new potatoes and mixed lettuce leaves, drizzled in balsamic vinegar and sprinkled with black pepper.
