A weekend in Hertfordshire.

A weekend of fine wine and dinning in celebration of my granddads 80th unfortunately did not quite go to plan and my suitcase of carefully planned outfits for each celebration turned into clothes for comfort while sipping the largest Costa.
I was lucky to still  wear the most important one, after going ahead with the main party on the Saturday night despite the absence of my grandfather, so I thought I would share my out fit choice and a few snaps from the weekend.

So my outfit after numerous purchases and returns came down to a nautical fitted bodice dress with a bonded skirt from Zara, Tiger clutch from Mulberry and nude wedges.

Strawberries and Cream

After my debate last night between Strawberries and Cream and Country 2 City to blog under my beautiful friend and work colleague Dilys brought me the most beautiful cup cake today called Strawberries and Cream, from Angel Food Bakery tucked away in the heart of Brighton's lanes

After hearing so much about 'the cup cake shop' from friends, customers and a feature in Vogue I could not contain my excitement when I returned to the office to a little white paper bag neatly tapped up with the 'Angel Food Bakery' sticker sat on the desk. I have to say I've never taken so long to open any thing, I went picture happy and slowly peeled of all the tape not wanting to disturb what was inside....

I can honestly say it was the best cup cake going, still slightly warm from it being made with a runny jam center, the largest topping of butter icing with half a strawberry neatly placed on the top.
If you are every in Brighton make sure you play them a visit, what will you choose from the daily cup cake menu?

A Girly Dinner

Wednesday night several of us girls went out for dinner, wine and a catch up.

I have to say for a Pizza Express the food was loverly, well presented and fresh.
We had olives to start and  I chose the Bosco salad for my main, which was very light and left room to try the nutella dough balls. All i can say if you are a chocolate lover this is to die for but if your watching the pounds then not the best option, chocolate and carbs is not a great combination.

The evening was lovely and is now to become a regular date, with the prospect of trying out a different restaurant each month, so watch this space....Jamie Olivers is a must for me.

The start....

So I have thought about starting a blog for weeks or possibly more like months now but have been so indecisive about a blog name that I have never started until now.

My blog name reflects my life, I was brought up in the Dorset country side and only visited cities for seasonal wardrobe updates until I started university and now I spend most my time in the city with visits to the west country to see family, friends and to get away from the hectic city life.
