'Everything But The Dress'

When I left for the south of France nearly 3 weeks ago Kurt Geiger was under going a re-fit for its new collection 'Everything But The Dress'.

The collection is what it says, featuring all accessories from hair ties and clips to i-pad cases and necklaces, simply EVERYTHING BUT THE DRESS.

The collection was developed from watching customers queuing to enter Kurt Geiger during Vogue's Fashion Night Out who were described as 'mini Christmas trees' by Rebecca Farrar-Hockley. In return she turned to the cheif executive for the brand and said, ''That's the answer, its not just do a handbag line, its to do everything but the dress. '' (thisislondon.co.uk)

So after leaving work today rather then crossing the road to avoid the temptation of going in like I normally do I thought i'd check out the new collection. Not knowing what to expect from the collection, as I have missed the majority of the media hype from being away I entered with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised and particularly drawn to the rows of gold parcels, in which I can only describe as envelopes made from what looks like bubble wrap.

Clear perspex boxes displayed the collection, with rows of the small gold envelopes that contain the accessories. After though-ally browsing the collection and chatting with the sales assistant I left with a little red bag, tied neatly with red and white ribbon on my arm.

I chose a long gold necklace, which is perfect for this upcoming autumn/winter with gold being such a key colour.
The design of the necklace will sit simply with almost every colour and just add a little bit of sparkle to a pain top for work or a slinky dress for the evening, making it such a versatile item.

Its first outing tomorrow night for Vogue's Fashion Night will see me in the que for Kurt Geiger wearing not any necklace but one that was developed from a couple of words from watching the same que on the same night just a year before.
